چکیده

-The effect of grain boundary regions on the total amount diffused during an exchange experiment has been numerically modeled. The total amount diffused increases when the grain size is decreased, and when the ratio of the grain boundary and lattice diffusion coefficients increases. Grain boundary migration increases the total amount diffused during part of the processing time. The numerical calculations have shown that when lattice diffusion distance is larger than the grain size, Hart's equation is a satisfactory approximation for calculating the apparent diffusion coefficient value.

On the effect of grain size on rock behavior under cyclic loading by distinct element method

It is well-known that the mechanical behavior of rocks under cyclic loading is much different from static loading conditions. In most constructions, the load applied to structures is within dynamic ranges. That’s why a great deal of attention has been paid towards this field in order to identify the dynamic behavior of rocks in more details. Nevertheless, the nature of dynamic failure in rocks ...

Finite Element Modeling of Strain Rate and Grain Size Dependency in Nanocrystalline Materials

Nanocrystalline materials show a higher strain-rate sensitivity in contrast to the conventional coarse-grained materials and a different grain size dependency. To explain these phenomenon, a finite element model is constructed that considers both grain interior and grain boundary deformation of nanocrystalline materials. The model consist of several crystalline cores with different orientations...

روابط بین صفات زراعی و فنولوژیک در لاین‌های خالص حاصل از تلاقی بین ارقام روشن و سبلان گندم نان

In order to assess the relationship of grain yield and some of the agronomic traits recombinant inbred lines (RIL) population of bread wheat derived from the Roshan × Sabalan were used to detect the informative traits on grain yield as the suitable criteria for indirect selection and path coefficient analysis. Two hundred and sixty seven recombinant inbred lines with three control cultivars (Ro...

Distinct element modelling of the mechanical behaviour of intact rocks using voronoi tessellation model

This paper aims to study the mechanical behaviour and failure mechanism of intact rocks under different loading conditions using the grain based model implemented in the universal distinct element code (UDEC). The grain based numerical model is a powerful tool to investigate complicated micro-structural mechanical behaviour of rocks. In the UDEC grain based model, the intact material is simulat...

A Survey on Precision of Nested Water Level Data Derived From Delft3D Model

One of the troublesome aspects of numerical modeling is to determine open boundaries for a model and to make sure that the boundary conditions employed at the open boundaries are compatible with physical processes being simulated within the interior of the model domain. In this investigation the accuracy of the water level data derived from delft3D employing nesting procedure were studied. Thes...
